Ginna is a film that Vishnu Manchu has high hopes for. The film released today after huge promotions. Let's see how it is.
Story:
Ginna (Vishnu Manchu) owns a tent house with huge debts. Her childhood friend Renuka (Sunny Leone) returns to India. He is filthy rich and wants to marry Ginna. But Ginna loves Swathi (Payal Rajput). So, he and his friends make a plan to cheat Renuka in the name of love and steal her money. Whether he succeeds or not makes up the rest of the story.
Extra Points
After a long time we see Vishnu in a fun role. When it comes to comedy, Vishnu is a pro and does a great job in this movie. He has worked hard on the film and it shows in his dances and fights which are amazing. Especially Vishnu's dances are the best.
Sunny Leone gets a meaty part and it works well. The entire story is based on him and this is his career best so far. Payal Rajput looks pretty as a village woman and performs well in the film. Senior actors Naresh and Suresh do their roles well.
Ginna is top notch in comedy and Chammak Chandra is the highlight of the movie and plays the fun character quite well. His fun interaction with Sunny Leone is very well done. Vennela Kishore is also perfect in her role and lifts the second half.
Writer Kona Venkat and his team have made sure that the film is full of good elements. The songs are well played, fun, glamorous and the thrills in the second half are interesting. All this does not bore the audience and there is a free stage flow.
Negative points
The movie starts on a slow note and takes time to get into the main plot. Although the proceedings are full of comedy, the main focus is the twist that is set only at the break point.
Sunny Leone's character should have been strengthened in the first half to give the film more edge. The climax twist is revealed and the main point is rushed for the audience. A more emotional angle in Sunny's character would have made things better.
Technical Aspects
The music is composed by Anup Rubens and it is impressive. The village visuals and background have been beautifully rendered by Chota K Naidu. The dialogues are funny especially those written for Kishore and Chammak Chandra.
As for director Suryah, he has done a decent job with the film. Although there is no novel in its display, the way it composes songs, fights and comedy without boring the audience is the best part. Comedy gets boring when you think about it and a twist comes along and credit should go to the director.
Verdict
All in all, Ginna is a fun thriller filled with slick comedy and swashbuckling thrills. Better compared to Vishnu's previous films. The movie starts on a slow note and is quite long. But regular well packed entertainment keeps the audience engaged and makes for a decent watch this festive weekend.
