Kollywood actor Sivakarthikeyan's Prince has been creating good buzz for days.

  The story

School teacher Anand (Sivakarthikeyan) falls in love with his British colleague Jessica (Maria Ryaboshapka) at first sight. But his father Vishwanath (Sathyaraj) opposes their love for a strong reason and the villagers decide to keep Anand away from the village. Why didn't Vishwanath accept his son's love? Why did the whole village want Anand to leave? What happened next? It shapes the story.

  Plus points

This is Sivakarthikeyan's immediate film after scoring two back-to-back hits - Doctor and Don. Sivakarthikeyan, who is known for his comedy, suits the character well and as expected impresses the audience with his best performance throughout the film.

Ukrainian beauty Maria Ryaboshapka looks beautiful and she lives up to her character. Even though the beauty doesn't have much work to do, she does her best.

Sathyaraj Vishwanath steals the entire show. His comedic timing and innocence worked very well and he is a great relief. Rest of the actors like Premgi and Anandraj are good.

  Negative points

Generally, people have high hopes for the next film of a director who scored a massive hit like Cathi Ratnalu. He tried to replicate the magic in the Princess, but somehow he couldn't recreate it.

Also, Anudeep comes with a weak storyline.

Notably, Jathi Ratnalu was enjoyed by many due to its stellar cast and circumstances at the time of its release. With Sivakarthikeyan as the protagonist, Anudeep had to write a strong story with slick comedy. However, Anudeep is not amused with his third venture Prince.

 Technical Aspects

Anudeep has succeeded in making the film look rich and lush but failed as a writer. Some of the comedy dialogues are good to laugh at, especially the ones written for Sathyaraj. Music by Thaman, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and production values are neat. The editing is also good.

  Judgment

Overall, Prince is an unmissable comedy film. Sivakarthikeyan does his best but the movie is not effective due to weak plot line. Sathyaraj's performance in the film stands out. If you're okay with nonsensical comedy punchlines, you can give it a watch this weekend.
