Athreya (Naveen Polishetty) is a junior detective agent in Nellore looking for a big job in her career. One fine day, he comes across the case of an abandoned corpse near the railroad tracks. Atreya begins to investigate and learns that these dead bodies are connected to a crime. The rest of the story is how Athreya investigated and cracked the case in detail.

Theme

One of the strongest points is the theme used for this thriller. The cases of missing dead bodies and how a little detective gets into it seem well thought out and quite novel.

Naveen Polishetty makes a strong debut as the solo hero and has potential. His role required a lot of variation and fun which had to be done with a straight face and Naveen was quite good in his role. He cracks the audience with good comedy and is very impressive in serious scenes too.

Supporting Cast

The supporting cast is new, but they were spot on. The way all the loops are exposed is good. The tension factor built up nicely until the last ten minutes.

The investigation scenes and how the film is brought to the interval point looks great. Also, the heroine's character is given a comedic angle and this created a decent amount of fun in the film. Special attention should be paid to the locations and production values of the film as the film looks attractive throughout.

The director drags the movie a bit in the last 15 minutes. Then the tension breaks and just to catch the criminals, the director has added many scenes that slow down the film.

The movie needs some editing as many scenes seem long. If ten minutes are cut, everything will be very impressive for the audience.

Also, things look a bit on the up in some scenes when a small time agent like Athreya easily enlists the help of the police and conducts her investigation in her own and easy way.

As said earlier, the film is technically sound. The camera work is top notch as the visuals look appealing. The dialogues are good, so is the sound design and background score. The lighting of the film is also appropriate and brings a lot of seriousness to the proceedings.

As for director Swaroop RSJ, he has done an impressive job with the film. Narrating a thriller with good twists is very difficult and Swaroop has done well with his tense story. Particular attention should be paid to the highest level of detail. Every aspect of the case is well demonstrated and creates a good suspense factor.

He is certainly a talent to watch out for and if he had made the final fifteen minutes crisp, it would have been all the better. However, his handling of the thriller is quite good.

Overall

Overall, Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya is an impressive thriller with good suspense and a tense story. Naveen Polishetty impresses with his endearing performance. A realistic approach and an interesting scenario keep the audience interested. Aside from the last ten minutes, which drag a bit, this film has several things to make it a compelling watch this weekend. Recommendation.
